Chartered Institution for Further Education






The Chartered Institution for Further Education (FE Charter) is a new membership body for the higher performing FE colleges and training providers in the UK. It received its Royal Charter on 9 October 2015. The Chartered Institution takes over from the Institution for Further Education Ltd, the not-for-profit company which was set up by Lord Lingfield in 2013 to pave the way for a new chartered membership organisation for colleges and training providers in the further education sector.

The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) creates leaders, through qualifications, membership and cutting edge research. ILM is a trademark of the City and Guilds of London Institute and is used under licence.

National Apprenticeship Service




The National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) has been designed to increase the number of Apprenticeship opportunities and provide a dedicated, responsive service for both employers and learners. They have simplified the process of recruiting an Apprentice through Apprenticeship vacancies, an online web-based matching service. Their main role is to work with employers, helping more of them take on apprentices; and to work with those who advise learners, so that more young people and adults are able to benefit from the experience of work based learning.

Chartered Institution for Environmental Health

The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health is a professional, awarding and campaigning body at the forefront of environmental and public health and safety. It is a registered charity and the professional voice for environmental health.  It sets standards, accredits courses and qualifications for the education of members and other environmental health practitioners.

City & Guilds

City & Guilds is the UK’s leading vocational Awarding Body providing over 50% of all NVQs, with over 1.8 million learners every year. City & Guilds designs vocational qualifications to be delivered by colleges, training providers and employers, offering 500 qualifications in 28 industry areas. They are well known for working closely with industry experts and set the benchmark for vocational education. As such, they are trusted by providers, employers and learners for the development of the most relevant qualifications for the workplace and the growing needs of UK businesses.

Learning Assistant

Learning Assistant is a user friendly, online e-portfolio designed to help Colleges, Training Providers, Councils and other organisations deliver more effective and profitable vocational qualifications. Learning Assistant requires no specialist technical skills to operate and no software or hardware to install. With Learning Assistant, your Learners build their portfolios online, submitting evidence for assessment as they progress. Assessors and verifiers then review the submissions, with all feedback recorded within the system.

The Matrix Standard is the government quality Standard for any organisation that supports individuals, enabling them to make informed choices about their future. The Standard was launched in February 2002 in direct response to the need for a national quality standard for any organisation that delivers information, advice and guidance on learning and work. For many, the matrix Standard ensures that clients receive consistently high quality help and support, enabling them to make informed decisions on their future.

OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and RSA) Logo
OCR (Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations) is a leading UK awarding body, committed to providing qualifications that engage learners of all ages and abilities to achieve their full potential. OCR offers a wide range of general and vocational qualifications that equip learners with the knowledge and skills they need for their future. Their qualifications are developed in close consultation with teachers, industry leaders and government bodies to ensure they are relevant for learners today.

Education & Skills Funding Agency Logo  

The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) brings together the existing responsibilities of the Education Funding Agency (EFA) and Skills Funding Agency (SFA), creating a single funding agency accountable for funding education and training for children, young people and adults.

ESFA is an executive agency, sponsored by the Department for Education.

How we helped 90% of Flow Energy staff facing redundancy back into employment!

Sadly, by the end of December 2019 the Flow Energy site in Ipswich had been scheduled for closure after the company was sold to Octopus Energy. As a result of the company’s closure around 125 employees were unfortunately facing redundancy.
